Front cover to November 1896 issue as first page, rear cover as last page, front cover to April 1897 issue as rpd. No other covers included. Some pages nicked at edges. Pp.7-8 and 33-42 of November issue have shallow chips at top edge, obscuring some page numbers but not text. Library bookplate on first blank recto. Children's and women's fashions: pattern catalogue, with hundreds of b/w illustrations in the text, including advertisements. Charming bicycling and skating costumes. Other features: graphology analysis, floriculture, the Children's Page, recipes, Bicycling (accessories and fashions), grillework, interior design, travel sketches, serial fiction. Inside front cover the owner's small book label, and a late-19th century chromolithograph (advertising?) card, a young woman with long hair and short fringe wearing a straw hat with pink roses.
